Private Residence
Palm Beach has a rich architectural history and is dedicated to preserving the designs and concepts from some of its most impactful architects.
Maurice Fatio is one of the most notable, and his design for this North County Road residence was awarded "The Most Beautiful House in The World" in 1936, by the Paris Grand Prix of Architecture. When Woolems teamed up with Rene Gonzalez and Mark Hampton to restore the previous glory of this property, expectations were high. Originally built in 1930, the structural elements needed repair, and the property needed a face lift on the modern design. In reverence to the design by Fatio, Gonzalez and Hampton's intent of clean lines and cutting edge materials from around the world pushed to truly make this ocean front home, a treasure.
The 25,000 square foot estate houses 10 bedrooms and a dozen bathrooms, theater, bowling alley, waterfall and a truly stunning view of the ocean. The pool deck, outdoor patios and terraces recall the open and breezy designs by Fatio throughout Palm Beach. The rich interiors add warmth to onyx and stainless steel construction. The landscape was terraced to provide a dramatic entrance and give this estate a hill top presence. The design build nature of the renovation allowed the design team to ensure they were employing the most up to date materials and techniques, which also provided a strain on a very tight eleven month construction schedule. Today, the residence stands not in the shadow of its former glory, but alongside it as one of the world's most beautiful houses.
